Getting connected to the church isn't something that happens all at once.  Maybe you've never been to church before, and it's all a bit strange or intimidating.  You haven't made up your mind what you think about God, or the church.  For now you're happy to be one of the crowd and just observe.  Or perhaps you're visiting several churches, trying to figure out where you belong. Maybe you'd like to know more about our small groups, Youth program, or what we believe.  Or maybe you've been attending for a little while, and want to move from experiencing the church as a crowd to experiencing it as acommunity.  You'd like to learn how you can connect with a small group, or get involved with a ministry.

Fortunately there are lots of others in the same boat, and we have many opportunities available for you to meet those needs.  There's no rush, and you're free to take things at your own pace.  Also, our pastor is always available to help you figure out what would work best for you, whether it's a small group, a class, or just an opportunity to talk about God

Connecting with the church is really about a journey with Christ.  Pursuing a relationship with Jesus is what it's all about, so we like to think of the connection process as launching a journey with Christ.  Here are three steps to help you do that:

1. Our greatest need is a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.

Weekend Celebrations . Alpha Course . Baptism

Weekend celebrations are an important place to begin exploring what relationship with Jesus is all about and to personally encounter his love and presence. The Alpha Course is a practical introduction to Christianity designed for seekers, new Christians, and those struggling with faith questions. Baptism is an opportunity to express publicly a personal commitment to Christ.

2. A relationship with Christ draws us into participation in his body, the church.

Small Groups . Introducing Vineyard . Special Events

Small Groups personalize the church connection and provide a context for spiritual growth. In small groups we get to learn with, relate to, serve, pray for, have fun with, and love others. We have a wide variety of small groups available to suit your particular needs. Introducing Vineyard is a class for newcomers scheduled several times a year. It's a chance to learn about the Vineyard's values, beliefs and ministries. Special Events like potlucks, picnics, and parties are great for getting to know people too.

3. We grow in Christ by giving away however much or little we have of God.

Celebrations . Compassion . Youth & Children . Servant Evangelism

Ministry at the Vineyard flows from one basic assumption: we can only keep what we give away. The Celebration Ministries include teaching, ushering, worship, hospitality, sound, multimedia, and prayer, among others. Compassion Ministry is a great place to serve the disadvantaged and less fortunate in our community. The Youth & Children's Ministry always needs caring adults to invest in young people's lives. Servant Evangelism is a fun way to share God's love in simple, practical ways. Numerous other ministry opportunities exist (building repair, financial oversight, missions, church board, etc) and others are just waiting to be prayerfully imagined.
